About Notice Period Calculator

Notice Period Calculator is a free online tool designed to help UK employees and employers work out notice end dates quickly and accurately. Whether you are resigning, being made redundant, or managing someone's departure, our calculator takes the guesswork out of the process.

What We Do

You enter your notice start date, notice period length, and whether to exclude weekends or bank holidays. The calculator instantly tells you your last working day, how many working days remain, and key milestones along the way. It accounts for all UK bank holidays in England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland.

Why We Built This

Working out a notice end date sounds simple, but it gets surprisingly fiddly once you factor in weekends, bank holidays, and the question of whether notice starts on the day you resign or the day after. We wanted to build something that handles all of this automatically, so people can focus on the more important parts of a job transition.

Important Limitations

This calculator provides estimates based on standard UK employment practices. It is not legal advice. Your actual notice period may be affected by specific terms in your employment contract, whether your employer agrees to waive part of your notice, payment in lieu of notice (PILON) arrangements, or garden leave clauses.

For advice about your specific situation, we recommend contacting ACAS on 0300 123 1100 or consulting a qualified employment solicitor.
